The state of Punjab is known for numerous reasons. It is known as “the land of five rivers”, and because of the fertile lands found here, it is also amongst one of the most ancient civilizations in the world. This place is rich with culture and full of beauty that you should experience first-hand. Punjab is the land of gurus, great learned saints who have showered their blessings on this land. NIFAA started its Punjab State Branch under the guidance of S. Sarabpreet Singh, a recipient of the National Youth Award from the President of India. As Punjabis are known for their philanthropy andsocial service, members of this branch of NIFAA have taken numerous initiatives for the welfare of the masses. “Naam Japo, Vand Chhako and Kirat Karo”, following this great preaching of Sikh Gurus, the NIFAA Punjab organized many devotional events. Members of the NIFAA Punjab branch extended helping hands to people in need, helped poor people construct their homes, distributed cooked food, grocery, and medicines during the corona pandemic, and provided blood and platelets to dengu patients. It has organized several blood donation camps and free medical camps. During the Samvedna campaign, the Punjab branch of NIFAA, with the help of other NGOs, organized 69 blood donation camps in the state. All camp organizers were honoured with International Life Saver Award by the Governor of Punjab. As drug addiction is a significant social menace in the state, NIFAAhas taken initiatives to save youth from this deadly social menace. Many youngsters were gotadmitted to drug de-add iction centres, and with the help of NIFAA, they come out from the clutches of drugs and the social stigma attached to them. NIFAA Punjab branch is also concerned for thewelfare of animals and provides food to stray animals. To protect our environment, NIFAA Punjaborganized tree plantat ion drives across the state. During Guru Nanak Sadbhawna Yatra, treeplantation was also d one at different places in Punjab. The programme was also organized to promote traditional Sikh martial gatka during this Yatra. NIFAA Punjab also extended a warm welcome to Gita Sandesh Yatra, and NIFAA organized an exceptional cultural performance at Lovely Professional University Jallandhar. The Punjab State Branch of NIFAA also gave members of One India Ride a warm reception, and the team also performed choreography to promote National Integration in various places of the state. Presently S. Sachpreet Singh is leading the state branch and under his guidance NIFAA is consistently working for the betterment of the society.
