(State Coordinator)

With a whopping number of different tribes and the cultural diversity that they bring, there is little wonder that Nagaland is famous as the 'Land of Festivals.' With each tribe practicing its rituals and traditions, Nagaland is a state that has one major festival lined up for all months of the year. The state is also known as the “falcon capital of the world.”

NIFAA’s relations started with Nagaland in 2013 when a cultural team of the Naga Student Union came to participate in Harmony 2013, an International Cultural Festival held in Karnal. Later, another cultural group led by Guru S. Anar also performed the rich cultural heritage of Nagaland in Harmony programs in the coming years. A team of 29 young volunteers from NIFAA visited Nagaland for the first time in 2017. They were on a mission to spread the message of harmony, peace, brotherhood, and national integration through a campaign titled "One India Ride." Before reaching Dimapur in Nagaland, everyone doubted the treatment they would get because of the insurgency in Nagaland. A
conflict fought between the ethnic Nagas and the governments of India was still going on. But the warm welcome, comfortable lodging, and boarding arrangements, and honoring at the town hall of Dimapur, which was received by the NIFAA team, removed all their doubts, and made them big fans of the people of Nagaland. Mr Guru S. Anar and his team performed Naga Dances in the welcome of members of One India Ride. Later, Mr Anar started the NIFAA branch in Nagaland, and under his command, an outstanding cultural group of NIFAA Nagaland participated in Harmony 2017 in Karnal.
This team took many initiatives to promote cultural harmony between Nagaland and other parts of the country. During the Corona lockdown, a new state executive was formed under the coordination of Ms. Bejam Konyak. NIFAA Nagaland organized a tree plantation drive to mark the organization’s foundation day. During the Corona lockdown, this team put collective efforts into providing relief to needy people. Under the aegis of NIFAA Nagaland, adolescent youth participated in the “Speak Up Friends” campaign and gave a message against drug and child abuse. The World Book of Records
London gave all appreciation certificates. NIFAA Nagaland also actively participated in the Samvedna Campaign and helped reduce blood shortage during the coronavirus lockdown by organizing blood donation camps.
