MIZORAM Known for its evergreen hills and dense bamboo jungles; Mizoram lies at the southernmost tip of northeast India. Called the Land of Blue Mountains, the hills are crisscrossed by gushing rivers and high sparkling waterfalls. Surrounded by Manipur, Assam, Tripura, Myanmar, and Bangladesh, a drive through the state’s centre towards the Myanmar border will take you through lush green paddy fields. This geographical diversity makes it one of northeast India's most beautiful places to visit.
The Mizoram State Branch of NIFAA came into being in 2019. Before this, the Department of Sports and Youth Services, Mizoram, had sent some youth to the Harmony Festival in Karnal, Haryana in 2017 and Tripura in 2018 under the leadership of Mrs Jacinta Vanlalengzami, the present President of NIFAA, Mizoram Branch. Since then, things developed for the birth of the Mizoram branch.
Eventually, on 7.6.2019, the National Chairman, Mr Pritpal Singh Pannu, inaugurated the Mizoram Branch of NIFAA at Serchhip, Mizoram. Since its birth, the Mizoram Branch has worked earnestly to cover the whole state under Vision 2020. Unfortunately, Mizoram is reeling under the COVID-19 pandemic, and the entire country is reeling. With the able leadership of its President and other leaders, it has covered 9 out of the 11 districts of Mizoram. Despite the restrictions of pandemics, the district branches have done their best to follow the suit of the National HQ. NIFAA Mizoram has taken part in various activities of the organization. The organization is now making its presence known throughout the state. Due to its activities, it has earned the state government’s recognition.
Moreover, it has developed a good relationship with the Young Mizo Association, the most prominent NGO in the state, which encompasses all the state youth. NIFAA Mizoram branch took various initiatives to promote the vision of NIFAA in the state. Tree plantation, blood donation camps, participation in “Speak Up Friends” a campaign against drug and child abuse, relief activities in the COVID lockdown, and honoring of COVID warriors are some of the main events of NIFAA Mizoram. The Samvedna campaign of NIFAA also got a good response in the state. NIFAA Mizoram organized three camps on 23rd March 2021 as a tribute to great martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev. NIFAA Mizoram has many plans to improve the state's humanity and development.
