Description

Sh. Satish K. Jhondale
(State Coordinator)

The spirit of Maharashtra is cosmopolitan, forward-thinking, tolerant, and vibrant. There is enough to keep connoisseurs of temples, forts, old monuments, and art—gainfully preoccupied here. Forts have played a vital role in the state’s history, given the rocky terrain of the Sahyadris. Each fort marks a military triumph, telling a story of strategy, warfare, intrigue, and planning. Bombay or Mumbai—the capital of Maharashtra- is not only seen as India’s financial capital but also the Gateway of India, which is secular, progressive, and yet rooted.

Dr Bharat Jethwani, a versatile artist and dance Guru, started NIFAA’s association with Maharashtra when he joined his cultural team to participate in Harmony 2013. Impressed with the vision and activities of NIFAA, he showed his interest in starting a branch in Maharashtra. NIFAA launched the NIFAA Maharashtra branch in 2015, and soon after, it organized the Social Welfare Award Function, followed by the Cultural Program in July 2015. NIFAA Maharashtra organized an Inter-School Essay competition on 12 January 2016 to mark National Youth Day & birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand. Saptarang International Cultural Festival & Competition, in collaboration with Saptarang Trust, was organized in 2016,2017, 2018 and 2019. The NIFAA Maharashtra team proudly organized the Saptarang International Festival Indonesia in 2018 Indonesia, and in 2020, it was organized in Malaysia. The same year, NIFAA gave the state team responsibility for organizing the Gita Sandesh Bharat Yatra project in eight states of south India. Under the guidance and command of Dr Bharat Jethwani, the cultural team successfully accomplished this task. Women’s Day was celebrated by distributing Pen Books to working women in hospitals, banks, and police stations for their children.
The NIFAA state team actively Participated in the Water Cup Competition 2018 under the Rainwater Harvesting system development program run by Satyamave Jayate and Amir Khan. A National Integration Rally was conducted on the eve of Independence Day on 15 August 2018.
Rakshabandhan was Celebrated with Handicapped Children, and girl members of NIFAA Maharashtra tied Rakhis on the wrist of differently abled people. NIFAA organized a Diwali Celebration for Hansen- Diseased patients along the same lines. The NIFAA Maharashtra team also organized a Cultural Program to collect funds for disabled children.
Similarly, NIFAA celebrated the Diwali festival with the newspaper Hawkers and other sections of the society. During the coronavirus lockdown, NIFAA Maharashtra joined fellow branches to Help needy people by distributing cooked food to 300 people and 125 dry ration kits daily. Blood Shortage was a big issue during the coronavirus lockdown period. On the call of the national executive, the NIFAA Maharashtra team joined with other organizations and organized around 100 blood donation camps in a single day under the Samvedna campaign. NIFAA also held an award function in Mumbai Raj
Bhavan to honor all Samvedna campaign supporters. The honorable Governor of Maharashtra gave the International Life Saver Awards to all the organizers. Presently Mr Satish K. Jhondale is coordinating NIFAA activities in the state and new state executive will be formed very soon.
