Also known as the Green Land of India, Haryana has a rich past, a fantastic present, and a promising future. This 16th largest state in India ranks amongst the leading industrialized states in the country.
It is a significant producer and supplier of agricultural products in India. Haryana State is the cradle of the NIFAA organization, and NIFAA constituted its first branch in the Karnal district of Haryana state in the year 2000. Over time, as the work picked up, the NIFAA organization spread its wings throughout the state and the nation. There came a time when NIFAA established its branches in every district of Haryana. Apart from its different wings, such as the youth wing, sports cell, and wing for differently able persons, NIFAA also started the women’s wing to do better work in specific areas.
NIFAA not only involved socially oriented youth and young artists in its social awareness drives but also provided them with numerous opportunities to excel in life. Many young members of NIFAA have received national and international recognition and have made Haryana proud with their exemplary achievements. When NIFAA H.O. called to organize blood donation camps under the Samvedna campaign, all district branches of Haryana state and other social organizations did
appreciable work by organizing 100 camps across the state. NIFAA branches at Panipat, Karnal, Hisar, Jhajjar, and Sirsa districts of Haryana consistently promote voluntary blood donations and organize blood donation camps regularly. Their work undoubtedly inspires other branches and fellow organizations. The Karnal branch of NIFAA has started the CARE project to teach children of slum areas and started skill development courses to empower women and young persons from low- income families. Sirsa and Jhajjar branches continuously work to make school students aware of their duties to their parents, society, and nation. In Haryana, a unique Fine Arts Wing was also formed to promote Fine Arts activities in the state. This wing has organized art workshops, exhibitions, and printed catalogues to encourage budding artists of the state. Go Green project is a well-taken activity of NIFAA Haryana, and till now, Lakhs of plants have been planted and distributed across the state. Haryana State presented itself as an icon in front of the country for its consistent efforts to make the country greener. Volunteers from almost all Haryana state branches participated in National level integration camps, cultural exchange programs, seminars, and other activities.
Concentration is being given to nurturing students and the younger generation, as they are the future of this country. NIFAA chose Haryana for its mass-level activities and world record attempts, which gave students, youngsters, and the masses ample opportunities to join the social awareness drives of NIFAA. NIFAA Haryana state branch also organized state-level “Chetna Yatra” against the social evils of dowry, drug addiction, and female foeticide and created awareness about HIV AIDS.
Under its widely appreciated campaigns “Lohri Beti Ke Naam” and “Kuan Poojan,” most all-district branches of Haryana state organized functions to spread the message of gender equality. Till now, Haryana branches have celebrated Lohri and Kuan Poojan of more than 6 Lakh newborn girl children, which helped a lot to improve the sex ratio of the state. Being a host state of Harmony, International Youth and Cultural Festival, volunteers from all district branches of NIFAA contributed significantly to making this festival a great success. They take care of all aspects of managing this vast festival, from lodging and boarding arrangements of delegates to stage and backstage management, registration, and day-to-day events. Volunteers of NIFAA Haryana always remain at the forefront. They also participated in significant events organized by other state branches of NIFAA and extended their volunteer services. The volunteer force of NIFAA Haryana is so strong that government departments and administration take the assistance of NIFAA volunteers during their mega-events.
They have even volunteered in significant events held in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tripura, and other parts of the country.
